Barbara Judith Martin

Barbara J. Thomas Martin, affectionately known as B.J., and has resided thirty years in Columbus, OH, went home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2014 at Ohio Health Dublin Methodist Hospital in Dublin, OH. Barbara was born on March 9, 1946 with her twin sister, Shirley G. Thomas- Ford, to the late Andrew Williams and Catherine L. Thomas in Camden, New Jersey. B.J. is preceded in death by her step- children, Andre, Jay, Kevin, Rufus and Arlene. She was married to James A. Martin on December 11, 1984 who is left to cherish her memory. Also left to cherish her memory are her Children, Rev. Daryl K. Angie Thomas, Sr., Marlene Martin and Judy Mark Stewart; Grandchildren, Daryl K. Thomas, Jr., Daja Thomas, Nastassia Martin, Karmilla Martin, TyJuan Martin, Tyrone Martin, Mark Stewart Jr., Adrian Nicoleta Stewart; Great-Grandchildren, T.J. Martin, Nishaa Martin and Tyrone Martin; Siblings, Shirley G. Thomas- Ford and Pearl Coleman; Nieces, Charlotte Coleman, Priscilla Coleman, Veronica Raymond Leftridge, Denise P. Marcus King, Jr., Sofia Ford, Shawn A. Ford Tony Manderson, Christina Manderson, Ebony Omar Murraine, Essence Leftridge; Nephews, Lt. Colonel Ronald Shirley Ford, Jr., Ronald "Trey" Ford III, Charles Coleman, Jr., Tyrone Coleman, Larry Langston, Jr., Marcus King, Jr., Quadree King, Elijah Leftridge and Luke Manderson. A special friends, Kay and her husband and Joanne Promise from New Jersey. The family had a head nurse by the name of Paul that walked us through the journey with caring, compassionate, and loving care, as well as, Chaplain Jean Feeney provided special pastoral care for our dear B.J. on her way home to be with the Lord. A service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 6:00PM with visitation from 5:00-6:00PM all at the Chapel of Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, OH 43206.
