Charles “Chip” Richard Zweifel, 58, passed peacefully at his home in West Liberty, Ohio on December 16, 2021 after a battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Chip is survived by his parents, Charles Joseph & Charlotte “Sam” Zweifel (née McCann); his wife, Carrie Zweifel (née Robison); his favorite daughter, Chelsea Zweifel (Shawn Boughner); his sister, Becca Zweifel, (Tonia Gibson); grandson, Graham Boughner-Zweifel; niece, Audrey Gibson-Zweifel; and his stepsons, who he loved as his own. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Ruth McCann; grandfather, Harry McCann; and his uncle, Earl Wayne “PeeWee” McCann.
Chip was an avid sports fan and loved the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In his younger years, Chip was a promising and skilled baseball player. He was scouted at 17 years old to play professional baseball until his career was sidelined by an ankle injury.
Chip was married to Carrie for 25 years. He spent most of his life working as a truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR. Chip loved frisbee golfing and mushroom hunting with his stepson, Spencer. He was especially proud to be the “papa” to his grandson, Graham. Chip will be remembered as a kid at heart who loves his family deeply.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 23rd, at Shiloh Evangelical Church, 16435 Square Dr, in Marysville, Ohio. Private family viewing begins at 11:00 AM. Public viewing will be 11:30 AM-1:00 PM. Pastor Jeremy Stout will be officiating the service at 1 PM. The family asks for donations at BrainTumorFight.com in lieu of flowers.
