Clyde Brock, age 79, of Cardington, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Marion, Ohio, with his family by his side.
One of eight children, Clyde was born on February 16, 1946, in Beverly, KY, to the late Ledford and Viola Brock. A gifted painter, Clyde was a man who could never sit still. He was always an individual with a heart for the wilderness and a country boy’s spirit. He delighted in planting flowers, searching for mushrooms and ginseng, and basking in the serenity of nature. Clyde also enjoyed camping and fishing, but most of all, he absolutely loved going turkey hunting with his cousin and best friend, Eugene. Clyde was a super thrifty person, always eager to try his luck with lottery tickets. He had a gift for making everyone feel like family and loved making others laugh by sharing his life stories. Clyde’s love for the Lord was genuine, and he adored his children, grandchildren, son-in-law ("Frankie Boy"), daughter-in-law ("Leath"), and his nephews, Jack Brock and Josh Brock, with every fiber of his being. His faith and optimism inspired all who knew him. His life motto: “Faith over fear, every day, without exception.” Isaiah 41:10 says: “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will surely help you; I will uphold you with My right hand of righteousness.”
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Ledford and Viola Brock; brothers: Gentry Brock, Burchell Brock, and Sterlon Brock; sister: Jewelldene Brock; and sister-in-law: Phyllis Brock. Clyde is survived by his six children: Sons: Delbert (Billy) Brock, Jimmy Dean Brock, Seymour (Clyde) Brock, Kevin (Aleathea) Brock, Sterlon Brock; Daughter: Dawn (Frankie) Quinn. Brothers: Stanley Brock, Eldon (Cindy) Brock, and Spurgeon Brock. Sister-in-law: Jeanie Brock. Grandchildren: Tre’ Sowers, Ashley Strickland, Kody (Ellen) Kieler, Kyle Kieler, Thomas Alvarado, Alondra Alvarado, Izaya Alvarado (Chelsea), Vanessa Alvarado, Kaleb Brock, Xavier Brock, Skye Brock, Brittany Brock, Brian Brock, Braeden Brock; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A graveside memorial will be held at Brock Cemetery #3 in Redbird, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ken Williams for Ganther's Place at 562 Reinhard Ave., Columbus, Ohio, or online at www.ganthersplace.com.
