Dudley G. Kuhlman, 82, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, April 27th, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, HomeReach Hospice. Born February 3, 1929 in Toledo, OH to the late Ross E. and Iva P. Deter Kuhlman, he grew up in Columbus, OH, graduating from North High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University in 1951; then received his D.D.S from Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1955. He voluntarily served on active duty in the U.S. Army Dental Corps., entering as a 1st Lt., and later was promoted to Captain. He returned to Columbus to establish his dental practice, and retired from dentistry after 51 years of service. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucy; daughters Amy Kuhlman financ? Lonney and Dolly Wes Newhouse; son Jamie Kim Kuhlman; grandchildren David, Sara, Kyle and Drew. Dudley loved racing, attending his first Indianapolis 500 in 1946, returning every year through 2010. One of the founding fathers of the Ohio Valley Region, Sports Car Club of America; lifetime charter member of the Ferrari Club of America; longtime member of the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association; longtime member of the Central Ohio Mini Owners organization. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Jazz Arts Group, Development Office, 939 North High St., Columbus, OH 43201, in memory for his love of jazz. At his request, there will be no visitation or funeral services held.
