Elizabeth Ferguson Johnson was born on February 6, 1929 to Cora Ferguson and John Beatty, in Spartanburg, SC. Elizabeth moved to West Virginia at an early age and attended Greenbrier County Schools. She married Clyde Johnson in 1946 and had Mary from this union. In 1965, Elizabeth moved to New York City and began a career with Zales Corporation and retired in 1980. In 1987, Elizabeth moved to Bedford Heights, OH. Affectionately known to some as ?Queen Liz?, she was very active in the community. She also became a member of Friendship Mennonite Church, where she attended faithfully until her health started failing. She departed this life on February 20, 2013 at Regency Manor Nursing Home in Columbus, OH. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband Clyde and granddaughter, Tonya. She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Mary Scroggins of Columbus; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Hendrix of Bronx, NY and Karen Earle Murdock of Columbus; three great grandchildren, Dana, Khristopher, and Ian Murdock; one sister, Catherine Brown of New York, NY; three brothers, Robert ?Sonny? Bobbi-Jean Allen, Frank ?Dualey? Allen of Bronx, NY and Willie ?Bumpy? Lauretta Allen of New York, NY; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
