Emma Elizabeth Richard, 71, passed away on Friday, April 13 at home in Athens, Ohio. Emma was born July 25, 1940 in Bathurst, NB, Canada. She is the daughter of the late Lillian Landry and Joseph Landry birth father was Guy William Chamberlain She is survived by a younger brother, Douglas Chamberlain, and his wife Arlene of Scottsmoor, Florida, her five children, 12 grandchildren and a nephew. Children include Paul Richard and wife Lyn, children Austin and Kierra of Athens, OH; Pam Keth and husband Terry, children Alex and Drew of Waxhaw, NC; Patty Wiggins and husband David, children Katie and David of High Point, NC; Peter and former wife Shannon, children Chelsea, Hannah and Tess of Cazenovia, NY; Susan Kerick and husband Russ, children Tatiana, Natasha and John of Northampton, PA; nephew Douglas Chamberlain Jr and wife Anita, children Brenden and Brayden of Titusville, FL; former husband Paul Richard and wife Marilyn. Emma had a special love for her family and her dog My Buddy. She loved the water, being outdoors in nature, flowers, birds and cooking. She was kind-hearted to all she met, in particular she showed great respect to people in service trades and cared deeply for those who seemed to be cast aside in their senior years. Particularly close to her heart were those who lived at the Stratford in High Point, NC. One of her favorite songs was Have a Dream by Abba. A special thank you to Al Frungillo who brought Mom love, kindness, companionship and joy. A memorial service will be held May 26 at 2pm the North Overlook Park at Oak Hollow Lake in High Point, NC.
