He was born July 5, 1956 in Welch, West Virginia to the late Robert and Barbara Puryear Thompson Sr.
Survived by his wife; Jacquelyn Thompson-James, son; Jerome Thompson, step children; Wanda Yates, Walter Yates, Tomeka Yates and Jamar Yates, grandchildren; Jemar Thompson, Alicia Thompson, Jerome Thompson III, Jordan Thompson, Malea Thompson and Malana Thompson, step grandchildren; Jayonne Briggs and Zion Yates, sisters; Fredda Thompson and Paulette Lamonte Rutledge, brothers; Robert Blema Thompson Jr. and Eugene Terri Thompson, favorite neice; Michelle Thompson and numerous other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by parents and one brother, Ruben Thompson.
