Fred Wallace Whisman, age 67, passed away at home surrounded by family on October 3, 2020. Fred was born to the late James and Dorothy (Smith) Whisman on March 10, 1953. Fred was a high school graduate who worked as a Truck Driver, and had many stories to tell from the road. Fred enjoyed the hobbies of 4-wheeling, hunting, white-water rafting, and watching the birds in his backyard. But, he was also known for his love of family.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents James and Dorothy, his brothers: Eddie and Wayne Whisman, his sister Reda Kay Whisman & Brother-in-law: Michael Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife Karen aka Kay (Blackwell) Whisman, his children Amanda (Joshua) Stouffer, Christina Whisman and JR Thompson; his brothers Raymond (Naomi) and Gerald (Angie) Whisman, his sisters Alice (Roger) Weaver, and Linda Colgrove; sisters in law: Barbara Whisman & Jan Blackwell, and four grandchildren Dillon Stouffer, Jessie Stouffer, Cassie Dean, and Cole Arens.
The family is inviting friends and family for calling hours on Friday October 16, 2020 from 11 AM to 1 PM, at Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus. Service immediately follows at 1 PM. The burial will follow after the service at Glen Rest Cemetery, 8029 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg.
