Garey Robert Brooks

Garey Robert Brooks, 59, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 28, 1962, in Swickley, PA to Carol J. Brooks and the late Robert L. Brooks.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Brooks; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Reba Brooks; maternal grandparents, Stanley and Sophie Vicznesky.

He is survived by his wife, Carroll (Valentine) Brooks; son, Garey R. Brooks Jr.; brothers, John A. Brooks and Leonard S. Brooks; grandson, Nicholas G. Brooks; as well as Tess Nemec and Shane D. Valentine whom he raised as his own. He also has several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom he was very close with and loved very much.

Garey had a fulfilling career, which he enjoyed and took pride in, working at the Wayne Dalton Sales Center, in Blacklick, Ohio. He was a Steelers fan, who loved to hang out with his family, friends, and two dogs, Patches and Daisy. He also loved to fish in his spare time.

Garey was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at the VFW - Banquet Hall, Whitehall Post 8794, 4100 East Main Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213. 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Please join us to share your memories of Garey.
