Gertrude Bondurant

Gertrude Bondurant was born July 13, 1931, and peacefully left this earth on December 18, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. 

Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband Isaiah Bondurant, son Steven Bondurant and daughters Florance and Bridgette Bondurant. Gertrude affectionately known as Ms. B was a East High School graduate and attended Columbus State. 

She worked many jobs throughout the years and was best known as County deputy Sheriff at the women’s workhouse. Mrs. B ‘s favorite enjoyment was sitting on her front porch in the summertime and listening to music.

Gertrude is survived by daughter Marcy (Terry) Bondurant-Wade; sons Nyota Asubuhi (Leslie Bondurant) and Isaiah Bondurant III. Grandchildren Quincy, Keisha Asubuhi, Chardonnai, Raydience, Arketa, Isaiah Taiwan and Deion Combs. As well as a host of nieces, great grandchildren and friends; special friend Valerie Harper.

Cremation entrusted to Families First at Edwards Funeral Home.

There will be no public service.
