Howard Eugene Bowers JR

Howard Eugene Bowers, Jr JR was born October 1, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio, departed from this life on July 30, 2013 at Grant Medical Center. He was the second of eight children. JR was preceded in death by his father, Howard Eugene Bowers SR. Survived by his mother Almeda Mickey Bowers.

JR. touched everyone's life that he encountered, he was no stranger to anyone. He always had a smile on his face regardless of his situation or circumstances that surrounded him. He served in the United States Marine Corps in the early 1970's. JR. truly enjoyed serving his country and he had many stories to share about being in the military. JR. was a jack of all trades and you can always count on him to help you out when you needed it. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone. Reading was a hobby of his and whenever you seen him you would have seen him with a book. He enjoyed sciences fiction and also mystery books and movies, also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and was quite the puzzle solver.

JR. is survived by his daughter Demita Burston of Atlanta, Georgia; Loving brothers William, Charles Deidre, Robert Angel, and Keith Bowers; Loving sisters Cynthia, Lois Candy, and Trina Bowers; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

JR. will always be remembered for the loving and helpful person that he was. He will be greatly missed for his loving, caring and compassionate heart. We are thankful for the memories that we were able to make with him and we will forever cherish those memories. In spite of his situation he loved God very much and never questioned God. He had the heart of God, always forgiving, always loving, always caring and never judging only voicing his opinion through truth. He always had a ear to hear when someone needed a listener. JR. was what you needed him to be a true friend, someone you could depend on. When you say jack of all trades that is exactly what he was in every sense of the word.

The viewing of JR for family and friends is starting at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Edwards Funeral Service 1166 Parsons Ave; Columbus, Ohio 43206. The service will be held at 5:00 P.M. following the viewing.
