Ima Jean Louise (Miller) Saunders was born on August 2, 1931. And passed on February 3, 2025, surrounded by her daughter and three of her eldest granddaughters. Louise, as she liked to be called, found the love of her life, Clarence Saunders, and started a family in Chillicothe Ohio. There she had five children, Clarence, Michael, Gala, Dane, and Bradley. In 1967 They moved their family to California.
Louise started a job at Stainless Steel where she worked for 10 years honing her skill as a welder. Louise then went on to work for Lockheed Martin until she retired. Louise loved her work and took pride in all she did, from raising her 5 children to caring for her grandchildren and sewing. During her career at Lockheed Martin Louise had the honor, as she saw it, to be part of the Skunk Works Projects where she worked on the SR71, U2 spy plane, and the F-117 Stealth Fighter. Louise was given several letters of commendation and service awards praising the vital role she played in the project’s completion and success. Louise often spoke about the time spent working on those projects, she was very proud to be part of these programs.
Louise had a passion for sewing. Whether it is making matching clothes for her grandchildren and their dolls, or herself, she enjoyed making and putting her personal touches on garments. Louise remained in California until she retired. She moved back to Ohio for a few years, then took flight, and moved to Nevada before returning briefly to California and eventually making Ohio her permanent home. Louise had many friends wherever she went. She loved her family deeply and cared for them as much as she could.
Louise lived a full and blessed life, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Louise is survived by her loving children Clarence, Gala, Dane, and Bradley. Her 15 Grandchildren Tina, Brandy, Keri, Michael, Zeb, Joseph, Jason, Heather, Rachel, Jennifer, Melissa, Taylor, Thomas, Samantha, and Harley. 28 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by Kwang, Miriam, Sandra, and a host of extended family.
Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Clarence Saunders, her son Michael Saunders, six siblings, Granddaughter Sarah, and Great-Great-Grandson Maverick.
Services will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Neutral Ground Worship 142 Hayward Ave Circleville, Ohio 43113. We welcome all friends and family who wish to pay their respects to come and join us in celebrating a beautiful life lived.
