JACK R VINCENT
JACK R VINCENT, 85, passed away on January 2, 2015. He was born July 17, 1929 in New Holland, Ohio to the late Loren Theodore Vincent and Mary E (Yeoman) Vincent.
He was born and grew up on farms in and around New Holland, Pickaway County, Ohio. Graduated from New Holland High School in 1947, then worked at various labor jobs until he enrolled in The Ohio State University in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart Wilma Grace Allemang on October 21, 1950 and that happy marriage continued for 59 years, until her passing on April 28, 2010. The Army cut short his college education by drafting him in 1951. Honorably discharged in 1953, he returned to OSU and graduated in 1956 with honors and an accounting degree. His accounting career took him through five rewarding employment experiences ending at Colorado State University where he retired in 1989. The employment experiences also took him and his family to several different locations such as Cleveland, Oh; Buffalo, NY; Orlando, FL; and Fort Collins, CO. He was a member of the Grove City United Methodist Church and the Ohio Society of CPAs. His hobbies were mainly golf and travel
He is survived by two daughters; Victoria E. Vincent and Jennifer J. Vincent, a granddaughter; Amylyn M. Thomas, two great-grandchildren; Gabriel Ray and Kayla Mae Thomas, one sister , June Vincent (Richard Hughes), four brothers; Loren T. (Joann), Lester Lee (Zana), Robert E (Alisa), and Richard A. (Karen) and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a brother; Kenneth E. and the love of his life, Wilma (Allemang) Vincent.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grove City United Methodist Church.
