James B Blackwell Jr, 88, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015
James was born September 5, 1926 in South Charleston, WV to the late James B Blackwell Sr. and Ethel May Jarvis. He was a loving father and grandfather He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gahanna, Gahanna Sunrise F.&.A.M. Lodge No. 783, and a veteran of the US ARMY.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Whisman; a daughter-in-law, Janice Blackwell; four grandchildren, Diana, James, Amanda and Christina; and five great-grandchildren, Dillon, Jessie, Cassie, Zachary, and Cole, and a sister; Janet Hicks.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Gertie, a son Michael Blackwell, Five brothers, Dewey, Orville, Frank, Ralph, Delbert, and Two sisters; Margaret, Carrie,
A service will be held Friday, April 24 at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, 5199 East Broad St., Columbus, where family will accept friends from 12 p.m. until time of service. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
