James Nichols

SRA James "Jimmy Jack" Nichols, who fought a courageous and valiant battle against cancer, died on October 26, 2014 in Columbus, OH at the age of 53. James was born on September 14, 1961 in Akron, OH to C. Donald and Frances Nichols. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Back Nichols; children, James "Patrick" Nichols, Alainna Jon Nichols, Crystal Josh Harvey, Deirdre Tiffany Nichols, and Donald Nichols; Five grandchildren, Krystian Ward, Wade "Fred" Santone, Antonio "Ralphie" Capaldo, Bronwyn "Poogie" Harvey, and Blaze Nilson; mother, Frances Glenn Nichols; siblings, Karen Jerry Aberegg, Richard Carolynn Nichols, Laurel McCauley, and Joyce Hoblit; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and very special friends. He is preceded in death by his father, C. Donald Nichols and two brothers, David and Donald Nichols. James spent years working as a "tree-man" and loved the outdoors, bringing home the occasional stray baby squirrel. He loved animals and he enjoyed writing, art and he was an avid gamer. James was a true family man, who loved his kids and adored his grandchildren. He was much loved by his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.

A funeral is scheduled for Monday, November 10th at the Dayton National Cemetery, with a celebration of life gathering to follow at 8939 Trowbridge Way in Huber Heights. All are welcome to attend and celebrate James' life. The family would like to thank nurses at the James Cancer Center for their kind and dedicated care. You truly made his time spent at the Center easier for him.
