Janet Maxine Gordon

Janet Maxine Gordon, age 61 passed away peacefully and comfortably in her home and was pronounced dead on December 17, 2019. She was born in Columbus Ohio to Janet Louise Mathews and James Hairston Gordon on August 1, 1958. Janet leaves behind her sisters: Crystal Gordon, Tamika Gordon and Sandra Lice, and her brother Rondala Gordon. Janet also leaves uncles, aunts, cousins, many nieces, nephews, in addition, grandnieces and grandnephews; all of whom she helped raise and loved dearly. Her life was devoted to caring for family, friends, and strangers.

A graduate of Marion Franklin High School Columbus, Ohio in 1976 and attended Columbus State Community College. She traveled state wide as a “Pixy Photographer” until yielding to the heart call into Retail Customer Care/Customer Service management and specialized entry levels. Janet had a gift for creating special bonds with people she encountered. Co-workers often attested to her work gatherings and events were genuine experiences of a family functions, filled with love, laughter and joy. Her favorite pastimes were watching the Cleveland Cavaliers, reading, journaling and analyzing the symmetry in numbers.

Her mother, Janet Louise Mathews, and her brothers: El Haj Mujahed Badruddeen and James Eugene Gordon precede her in death. The family will be holding a memorial at a later time. Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43206 is serving the family.
