Jason Leon Tanner

Jason Leon Tanner passed away suddenly at his home in Mount Victory, Ohio on July 29, 2013. Jason was born in Aberdeen on June 6, 1971, to Alva Theo Ted Tanner and Debra Gail Tanner. He lived most of his childhood in Ocean Shores, attending North Beach schools. He graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1990, where he lettered in Soccer. After graduation, Jason enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was trained as an electrician and served on a warship during the first Gulf War. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Jason returned to Ocean Shores, where he volunteered with the Ocean Shores Fire Department for several years. Jason loved helping people, and helped save many lives as an EMT. He then moved to Seattle, where he worked for a private ambulance company, and later as a limousine driver When his parents and his sister relocated to the State of Ohio, Jason did too. He held several jobs in Ohio, including driving truck. Unfortunately, a few years ago he suffered a disabling medical condition and was forced to stop working. Jason is survived by his parents, and his sister, Athena Tanner Brown, two nieces, two nephews, a grand niece and a grand nephew, all living in Ohio. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, who mostly live in Washington State. Jason loved animals, especially his cat, "Medic" Jason's family asks that donations in his name be made to PAWS, 800 W. 1st Street, Aberdeen, WA, 98520.
