John B. J.B. Shannon, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Grant Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 24, 1928 in Sunbright, TN to the Evert and Golda Smith Shannon. He was retired truck driver with Teamster local 413 and a Army veteran during the Korea War.
Survived by his loving wife Helen Joy Back who loved him for 55 years; sons, John Kelly Back, Jeffrey Sharolyn Back; daughters, Tonya Gulick and Gloria Back; also surviving from first wife Virginia, who preceded him in death, daughters, Mary Jo Donnie Jividen, Betty John Paolucci; son, Gregory Shannon; 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother, Harold Shannon; Sisters, Mary Smith and Judy Elmore.
Preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
A service will be held 7 PM Monday, August 1st at the Chapel of EDWARDS FUNERAL SERVICE, 1166 Parsons Ave., Where family will receive friends from 5 till 7 pm
