Jon Allen Morris

December 9, 1951 — October 11, 2021

Columbus, OH

Jon Allen Morris known to everyone as, SKEET, was a fun-loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Jon was born December 9, 1951, in Williamson, West Virginia to his parents, James Allen Morris and Ruthella Jones Morris. Jon grew up in Detroit, Michigan with his three sisters: Loretta Mack, Pamela Morris, and Audrey Morris-Silver. Jon completed his General Education Degree as an adult and was proud of this accomplishment. Jon’s relationship was all about being close to his sisters. As they grew older together, they all shared a special bond that could never be broken.

Jon was the type of man that held family first. He loved the lord and would always let us know to put God first. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He was always the type of person that never judged but always tried to uplift family and friends.

Jon has always loved people and made them smile. Once he moved to Columbus, he began his journey working with the Charitable Pharmacy of Central Ohio and the United Methodist Church & Community Development for all people. In 2017 he was so happy about his appearance in the Charitable Pharmacy’s annual report because it showed everyone how much he loved and cherished his job there, which consisted of greeting people in the building. He built relationships while helping people coming into the pharmacy.

Jon also worked at the United Methodist Church & Community Development for All People. Jon always said he really enjoyed working there because he was able to meet new people all while helping people find what they needed.

His life was whole, from start to finish. In his later years he said his goal was to, this is a quote from the Charitable Pharmacy: “If I have joy, I’m going to spread it to you as well. I want to spread the joy because there’s so many out there who need assistance. You may have had a bad start to the day. You may have had a bad ending to the day before. But once you come through the doors to this church, while you’re under this roof, you’ll find some joy. I love doing that. I love it. That’s why I’m dancing.”

In Jon’s final days he focused on being happy and doing what he loved, making people laugh and smile.

Jon leaves to cherish his memory his two children, a son Skylar Morris and his fiancé Skylar Marie, and a grandson (Greyson), a daughter LaChanda Sullivan (Tony), along with his sister Pamela Morris, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. “John 14:27
