Joseph D. Glick

Joseph D. Glick, age 81, of Westerville, OH, died March 12, 2013. He was born in Columbus, OH, on July 15, 1931, to the late Howard and Mary Cartmell Glick; preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Strohl, Newark, OH; and survived by Leann Strohl, a niece, Howard Strohl and Chris Strohl, nephews. He was active as a youth at the Ohio Ave. Evangelical United Brethren Church; former youth members are among Joe?s closest friends. A 1949 graduate of Columbus Central H. S., Joe received a B.A. in Education from Otterbein College in 1961 and attended Graduate School at B.G.S.U. After inheriting antiquities from Paul Steele, a close friend, he gave many rare objects to the Frank Museum of Art at Otterbein. As an Army veteran Korea, he wore his veteran?s hat with pride. He taught at Groveport Madison Schools and was a court courier for Vorys law firm. Heartland Hospice provided loving care to Joe in the last year. Memorial service: 1:00 p.m. March 23, 2013, at The First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH with Rev. Timothy Ahrens officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church?s Remembrance Fund in Joe?s name.
