Joyce A. (Mallory) Bentele, 69, passed away on May 30, 2014 in Columbus, OH. She was born in Peoria, IL to the late Cecil and Iola (Day) Mallory on May 22, 1945. Joyce is survived by her Son, John(Racquel) Hickman; Daughters, Dawn Hickman-McDougal, Deanna Hickman; Seven Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Robert(Mariah) Mallory and Michael (Sue) Mallory; Sisters, Cecile Amerson, Suzetta Williams and Stephanie PoolAC.; She is preceded in death by her Parents; Son, Dean Hickman; Sister, Verna Mae Marshall; Brother, Patrick Mallory. Joyce was a member of Tabernacle of Jesus Christ. She was the President of the Resident Council Association at Stygler Village where she resided, a breast cancer survivor, and one of the longest surviving dialysis patients known to date. Joyce loved life and people. She helped her fellow man and was an advocate for the less fortunate. She was never sad in this life and ready for her eternal journey.
A service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM with a visitation from 9:00-10:00 AM all at the Chapel of Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH 43206. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
