Judith A "Judy" Foster

d. May 9, 2016

Judith Allen Foster (Judy), 78, died Monday, May 9, 2016. Daughter of Virginia and Robert Allen

of Delaware. She Is survived by her husband Sidney, of 56 years; sons Mark (Jodie) and John

(Rebecca); six grandchildren Rachel, Benjamin, Celia, Mia, Mary, and Johnny; four step

grandchildren Carley, Grant, Kevin, and Max; two brothers Jerry (Sue), and Jack (Pam);

two sisters Janet, and Barbara (Jim); brother-in-law David (JoAnn), sister-in-law Sally (John);

twelve nieces and nephews and twenty great nieces and nephews, including her very special

namesake, great niece Maren Judith. Judith graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and

taught elementary school in Columbus for several years before becoming a full time mom and

volunteer. She was the Capital Area Hockey Association (CAHA) registrar for several years

before spending two years as the parent liaison for the U.A. High School Hockey Club.

Judy cofounded Twig 6 in 1966; she was Twig Bazaar chair and general chair for the Twig

organization and served eight years as treasurer for the Children's Hospital thrift shop.

She also was the Memorial Tournament women's division concession chair for three years.

She was Nationwide Children's Hospital auxilian of the year in 2013. Judy was an Upper

Arlington Civic Assoc. director, receiving an outstanding director award, and was UACA

secretary for almost 25 yrs. She did the usual "mom" things room mother, den mother, Sunday

school teacher as well as serving as a member of the UA charter review group. Judy wished

for no formal calling hours or funeral services to be held for her. She did want to express to all

her friends, neighbors, and family her gratitude for all their loving care during her long illness.

Her only request, "do something unexpectedly nice" and maybe make a donation to Twig 6

of Nationwide Children's Hospital.
