Evangelist Loretta E. Mack went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2021.
Evangelist Loretta E. Mack was born in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Rev. James Allen and Rethela Morris.
Evangelist Mack graduated from East High School and from the New Life School of Theology with her Associate Degree in Biblical Studies. She joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Landis C. Brown Sr. She continued to serve faithfully at Ebenezer under the pastorate of Bishop Michael A. Dickerson, as a substitute Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, she was the Secretary of the Guiding Light Guild, served as the President of the Gospel Choir for 15 years and before she became ill, she was the President of the Mass Choir.
Preceded in death by husband Tommy Mack, sister Audrey Silver, daughter Katrina King, and grandson Desmond King.
Survived by sons Darryl (Karina), and Juan King, daughter Donna Mack and stepdaughter Cynthia (Daniel) Tucker. Sister Pamela Morris and brother Jon Morris. She was a proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Charmaine, Danielle, Brandon, Juan Jr, Janay, Whitney, Trey, Skylar, Jalen, Alyiah. Thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Her closest sister friends: Brenda Brown, Alice Booker, Frances Brown, Freida Smith, Doris Hull. Two God children Jeri Jordan and Landis ‘Rocky’ Brown III. And of course, her church family Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Evangelist Mack believed she was called to preach early in her life but did not accept this calling until much later. She also would say, “I want to walk and talk with Jesus each and every day of my life. I want to be an example for him to use in every way, because I love him, I love him, I love him, and I know HE LOVES ME.”
