Mark Anthony Jones

Mark Anthony Jones. 67 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 26th, 2024. Mark was born in Dayton, Ohio to Alfonzer and Geraldine Jones on October 27th , 1956. He loved watching movies with his family, looking after his grandchildren, trips to the casino, and driving. He was an intelligent, charismatic man and fun spirit. He loved to make others laugh and enjoyed sharing in the latest lighthearted gossip as much as having deep philosophical conversations. Mark loved his family and friends greatly, and others naturally enjoyed his company and sought his insightful counsel. 

Mark worked diligently as a father of four and supervisor, and upon retirement, was able to briefly pursue a personal passion in running a food truck with his younger children. He spent his life working to impart important lessons taken from his own worldly experiences to his children and grandchildren. Mark educated and entertained throughout his life, a true and passionate storyteller until the very end. He worked to support the thoughts, hopes, and aspirations of those whom he loved dearly, despite his own occasional personal fears and doubts. A warmhearted free spirit, Mark used his charm and gifts of conversation to uplift those around him.

Mark is survived by his sister Robin (Toney) Settle and four children: Matthew (Treniese) Jones, Meagan Jones, Chelsea (Amari) Jones, Cody (Johannah) Jones, as well as his grandchildren Amela, Amari, Jayce, Jacobi and Jrue. 

He is preceded in death by his partner Cathy Jones and 7 brothers and sisters Bernadine Blair, Nelson and Jerry Hooks, Michelle Evans, Almeta Grady, Alfonzo Jones and Micheal Jones.

His sudden departure comes as a great loss and a deep shock, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him dearly. The family greatly appreciates your support during this difficult time.

Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
