Matilde Perez

Matilde Perez passed away on August 27, 2022 at home, surrounded by family. She was born on August 10, 1952 to Luis Perez Lopez and Pura Milagros Velazquez Petrilli, in the town of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Matilde is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Luis Perez Lopez and Pura Milagros Velazquez Petrilli; loving Veteran husband, Jorge Luis Ortiz Santiago; her siblings: Luis Enrique Perez, Hector Perez, and Elsa Perez.

Matilde is survived by her siblings, Julia Torres and Luis "Chiro" Perez; her two sons, Jorge Luis Ortiz Perez and Jorge Alberto Ortiz Perez; daughter, Gladys Vanessa Ortiz Perez; grandchildren: Allison Mia Pagan, Madison Marie Pagan, Vanelis Ortiz, Jorge Luis Ortiz, and Valerie Ortiz.

Matilde loved the Lord and was a Children's Sunday School teacher for over 30 years. She loved all of her family and friends.
She has positively impacted the lives of many with her advice and loving demeanor.
Matilde loved helping people and always managed to put a smile on people's faces due to her innocent truth-telling.

The family is inviting friends and family to a Memorial Service of Remembrance at Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus OH, on Thursday, September 1 from 10 AM - 12 PM.
