Paul H. Rickman, 64, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 11, 2012, after several health challenges during the past 18 months. Paul was a valued and faithful employee of the Furniture Bank of Central Ohio for nearly 12 years, during which time he caringly assisted nearly 40,000 families in picking out free furniture to fill their empty houses. Little is know about Paul?s family and his parents, and no surviving relatives are known at this time, but his fiance? Gwen Nieves, her two sons, Joshua and Antone, his roommates, Michael Taylor and Michael Eichenburger, will miss him dearly. Nevertheless, Paul?s ?family? is larger than most, as he had a fervent and tireless servant?s heart. From families in need and their case managers, to co-workers in need of a helping hand, to individuals struggling with life challenges, Paul was loved by all as a man of character, compassion and integrity. Paul was also an avid music enthusiast, and his favorites were often heard playing in the background at work. He will be dearly missed by all. Friends may gather to remember Paul on Thursday from 7 till 8 pm at Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Ave., where a service will start at 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to: Furniture Bank of Central Ohio, 118 S. Yale Ave., Columbus, OH 43222-1329. www.EdwardsFuneralService.com
