Randy Lee Downey

Randy Lee Downey 59 of Columbus, Ohio went peacefully to be with his Savior August 7th, 2014 at the Wexner Zusman Hospice House.

Randy was surrounded by his loving family as they prayed, sang and read aloud some of the very thought provoking, silly and sometimes sad poems he had written during his illness.

Randy was born August 25th, 1954 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Jack and Eula Downey.

Randy was a very gifted man with a beautiful tenor voice and an amazing talent to play the alto sax. He often used both of his gifts and talents to assist his father in his ministry in Marion, Ohio as well as a church in Delaware Ohio.

Randy was a very passionate man in everything he did. Sales was one of his many great passions. He loved to paint "water color" paintings of nature with his brother Ken in his more recent years.

Randy can now use his many gifts and talents with the heavenly band.

Randy is survived by son Randall Lee, wife Jenny and step granddaughter Elizabeth, Son Matthew, his mother Eula, stepmother Phyllis, brother Ken, sister Faith Maxwell brother Jack, Sister Joan Denman and brother Jonathan. Randy was preceded in death by his father Rev Jack Downey just two short months ago.

Friends may call at the Steadfast Pentecostal Church 4500 Broadway, Grove city, Ohio 43213, Monday evening August 11, 5:00-7:00 with the funeral following immediately.
