Richard Lee Gammons

Richard Lee Gammons was born July 2, 1956 to the late Harold Gammons and Martina Gammons (Mabra). Richard departed July 31, 2018 in Columbus, OH. His life was centered on the love of family and friends. A friend to him was a friend for life, and the love he showed one he showed all. He had three biological children but was known as “Pops” to many people, young and old, from all walks of life. He was a simple hard-working man who didn’t need much but a good book to read, some rock-n-roll music to listen to, and Star Trek to watch.

Richard was preceded in death by parents Harold Gammons and Martina Gammons (Mabra); brother, Harold Gammons Jr.; sister, Barbara McCord. Survived by sons: Richard (Dana) Brown, LaShawn Lee White, Stefan Rico Gammons; brothers, Ernest (Sarah) Lee, Eddie (Wanda) Lee; sisters, Angela (Al) Crawford, Marilyn Hairston, Patricia Hammonds, Vivie Gammons; 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held to honor and celebrate Richard's memory on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Service Chapel, 1166 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43206 where family will accept friends from 10 AM until time of service
