Robert Calvin Gregg

Robert Calvin Gregg, 90, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 06, 2015 with his family by his side.

Robert was born Monday, December 01, 1924 in Mechanicsburg, OH to the late Alva and Ruth Gregg.

Preceeded in death by brother Frank Gregg, niece Belinda Marsh, and granddaughter (in-law) Candace Rucker.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Gregg; daughter, Charlotte (William) Brewer; six grandchildren, Denise (Tom) Mackaravitz, William Rucker, Steven (Iris) Rucker, Ronda (Steve Buckland) Rucker , Tami (Adam) Burgett, and Amy Rucker; 15 great grandchildren, John Dunn, Ashley Powell, Brittany Dunn, Steven Dunn, Tuesday Rucker, Riley Rucker, Collin Rucker, Anna Rucker, Andrea Rucker, Joseph Buckland, Kyra Buckland, Vaughn Buckland, Mia Burgett, Eleanor Burgett and Elizabeth Burgett; and 11 great great grandchildren, Dezriel Dunn, Mina Dunn, Lydia Dunn, Ryu Dunn, Rihanna Powell, Daylin Powell, Devin Powell, Jazmin Powell, Hanna Powell, Savannah Powell, and Madison Dunn; sister Martha Jane Ferryman; niece Elizabeth Ball

Robert served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was stationed on Pelelui Island where he received a Good Conduct Medal.

He was more of a father than grandfather to many of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved his family with all his heart and always put their well being before his own. He will be sadly missed as the patriarch of the family.

Family will receive friends and family on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00AM at the Chapel of Edwards Funeral Service, 1166 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH 43206.
