In Loving Memory of Scott Vance
Scott Gerald Vance, born April 24, 1980, in Lancaster, Ohio, died Sunday, June 8, in Columbus. He was the only son of Barbara McDonald Vance, Lancaster, and Marc G. Vance, Canal Winchester.
Scott earned an associate of applied science degree from Hocking College, with a major in industrial ceramics engineering, and a bachelor of technical and applied studies degree from Ohio University. He was employed by NexTech Materials in Lewis Center as a powder and process development technician.
He was an avid skier and enjoyed many trips with his father and friends. An excellent musician since childhood, he spent many hours writing, recording and playing music with many friends, notably Jesse Stickel and Sean Latta.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Gerald W. and Grace Crozier Vance and maternal grandparents Charles W. and Geraldine Broderick McDonald.
Scott is survived by his parents; great aunt Judith (Ken) Garloch, Newark; uncles David (Patty) McDonald, Franklin Furnace; Kevin (Diane) McDonald, Vincent; Ryan (Sue) McDonald, Parkersburg, WV; and Gary (Susan) Vance, Dublin; along with nine first cousins and many second cousins.
Scott's extended family included Vicki and (the late) Ed Stickel, Circleville; Kathryn and Bob Paugh, Worthington; and Kathy Binner, Canal Winchester. He also will be missed by many friends and constant companion, Whiskey, his dog.
