Tamlyn R McCrary

Tamlyn (Tam) Rashia Draughon McCrary was born on May 21st, 1974, to Rayanna Ragland Shipley and Thomas Draughon in Columbus, OH. Affectionately called Tam, she transitioned to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 27th, 2024. 

Tam graduated from Centennial High School in 1992 and was most recently employed at the Ohio Department of Commerce for many years. During her time on earth, Tam touched many lives and loved grilling, fishing, and spending time with her loved ones as well as her club family, the Hundred Percent Gorillas. She especially loved her boots, particularly the red ones! If you really knew Tam, you knew she was the life of the party, just like her dad. Tam loved all of her friends and family very much, and anyone that meant something to her could be found pictured on her Facebook page. She especially loved her cousin Dimi.

Tam is preceded in death by her grandparents Paul and Evelyn Ragland, and Genevieve McKinney Draughon; her mother and father, Rayanna Ragland Shipley and Thomas R. Draughon; uncles Leon Draughon; and aunts Terry Reed and Chrisolene Johnson.Tam leaves behind her beautiful children: son Chaquan Draughon and daughter Shakerra McCrary; her grandson Chamar Thomas Draughon; her two sisters Latasha Draughon and Tenia Alexander; one brother Tony Hamilton; her grandfather Russell Draughon and grandmother Dalene Draughon; three nieces Aniyah, Anaysia, and Anneciya Allen; two nephews DJ Allen and Sterling Hamilton; and don't forget her doggy nephew Batman Hercules Draughon. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncle, and cousins.
