Virginia Gibeaut

Gibeaut Virginia Lou Gibeaut, 87, peacefully passed to be with the Lord on February 13, 2015 while at home in Powell, Ohio under the care of her daughter, Janine Gibeaut, and surrounded by family. Virginia, also known as Susie by her siblings, was born May 12, 1927 to Edgar and Lena Bandy on the family farm in Fayette County, Ohio. She was the ninth of eleven children. Virginia graduated from Washington High School, Washington Court House, OH in 1945 and married Charles C. Gibeaut April 15, 1951. While living on their farm, Virginia and Charles had four children. The young family moved to Upper Arlington, OH in 1960 where she continued working a variety of jobs, her favorite as a dental assistant. After raising the kids, Virginia and Charles moved to Sarasota and Bradenton, FL where she enjoyed the beach, walks, and above all, hosting her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Janine; sons, James and David; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Brian, Trevor, Derek, Elaine, Ethan, and Neil; and two great grandchildren, Maxwell and Myles; sister, Ruth Jobe; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband Charles, son John, siblings Eva, Edgar, Alice, Nellie, Harry, Kenneth, Victor, Calvin, and Don. A memorial service will take place 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 18 at Edwards Funeral Services, 1166 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH. A reception will follow at 3:30 at Gresso's, 961 S. High St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NationalChurchResidences.org, an organization providing senior services. Virginia was a loving wife and amazing mother who always encouraged and supported her children in their lives.
