Yvonne Denise Twitty (Willis) was born February 2, 1954, to Herman and Eunice Willis. She attended Pilgram Elementary School and Champion Junior High. Yvonne graduated from East High School where she marched with, who she said was “the best band in the land”. She had such a love for music and played multiple instruments which includes: String Bass Guitar, Saxophone, and Clarinet. She also sang in the choir throughout her high school years and directed the church choirs whenever possible. She was a 1st Soprano and to hear her sing would bring you so much Joy.
Yvonne had an Associates's Degree in the medical field from Columbus Technical Institute (C.T.I) known today as Columbus State Community College. She had certifications in Nursing Assisting (Nurse Aide) Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting. She worked for OSU North for 19 years and retired as a 3rd shift Unit Clerk in 2015.
Yvonne had a lot of accomplishments but her most prized accomplishment was her children. Being an only child, Yvonne not only cared for her own children but all the children around her. She always said that she had enough of Yah/God’s love to go around to everyone. She was a very spiritual woman and active in all churches she attended. She was referred to as Mother Twitty at any congregation that she went to because she was just that, The Mother.
Yvonne was currently attending The House of Israel Ohio and attended Bible Study at Waters of Hope Empowerment Center. She had a way of showing Yah/God’s love to all who crossed paths with her. You can ask anyone and they will tell you she was gonna talk to you about Yah/God. She definitely had a way of making everyone feel like they were her favorite.
